Changing ratio 2 weeks prior to event?

OK, maybe this is just pre-event jitters, but here goes. I am signed up for Disney in approx. 3 weeks. This is my second. This time around I employed Gallo. I have been doing a 2 MILE run, 2 MIN walk ratio. That translates to approx. 22/2. Did an 18 mile on flat road, OK weather and felt fatigued much of the way. I think I hydrated well that week. So, now I'm wondering if I shouldn't back it down to something more like a 10/2 ratio or something like that.

Am I just suffering from some training jitters or do I make a late training schedule trade? Any thoughts?

Re: Changing ratio 2 weeks prior to event?
I just went to a Galloway retreat in Fla. and according to him it's better to take more breaks with a shorter walk- like maybe 10/1 or 5/1. It seems like running 2 miles then taking a break is way too long. I do my long runs using 3/1 and love it! I've been running 12 years and just started using galloway because I kept getting injured when I ran over 10 miles. Hope this helps and good luck with your marathon. Kathi

Good luck on Disney (four times for me including a Goofy - hate to miss this years.) I used a 5/1 last year with great success and I agree that more frequent breaks are better. I now use a 7min/30 sec routine with good results.

Enjoy the run.
