Houston Power Open Practice / Tryouts * UPDATED TODAY

The Houston Power will be hosting open practice/tryouts

The Houston Power is a nationally recognized organization that is going in to its 16th year.  We put competitive teams on the field every year and have qualified for nationals each and every summer.  We are looking for players who are serious about the game, who can come in and continue the winning tradition.  We have (2) 16U teams in the Houston are and have (2) 18u teams in the Houston area.  At the 10u - 12u divisions, through tryouts, our goal is to put the best team possible on the field.  We're not looking to dilute our talent but rather put teams on the field that can compete.

We are an ASA organization that has qualified for PGF Nationals and participated in the TCS National tournament each of the past three years.

We have put together what we feel is a good fall showcase schedule for our 16u and 18u teams, which will include the following:  Stars Over Texas, Team New Jersey, St. Louis Showcase, D9 Orlando Showcase, and The Ronald McDonald Showcase.

We have also had our younger age division teams participate in round robins and double headers at some D1 colleges and some Junior Colleges that we feel gives the younger age division teams some great opportunities to get out there and get seen and experience the collegiate atmosphere.

The Houston Power has coaches and staff in place with numerous years of experience and the knowledge of the game that makes for a winning formula.  Our goal is to teach our young athletes the right way to play the game and along the way give them the direction they need to be successful student athletes.

The Houston Power is excited to announce a new addition to our coaching staff for the 2014-2015 season:

Jessica Rattan – 4 year starter at Concordia University in Austin, TX.  She was a career .399 hitter in college with 30 HR’s and 122 RBI’s.  She also stepped in her freshman year and was on the Concordia pitching staff.  In 2011, Jessica was nominated ASC West division player of the year.  She moved on to become a GA at Concordia and is finishing up her Master’s Degree at Concordia University.  Her hitting, defense, and pitching experience will make her a well rounded coach and great influence in our 14u division.

If you’re looking for an organization with integrity, history, and a strong established foundation, then sign up and come to our tryouts.
