Open Letter to Travel Coaches and Parents

Travel Coaches and Parents

This is an open letter to Travel Coaches, Parents and Players.

The Tennessee Softball Coaches Association (TSCA) invites you to attend our Softball EXPOSURE Camp scheduled on Tuesday October 7th at Triple Creek Ball Park in Gallatin, TN.

Why should you consider attending our exposure CAMP?

Tournaments do provide a good opportunity for softball players to enhance their skills and some athletes are recruited during these events.  However, we believe the TSCA exposure camp will provide each softball athlete with a better opportunity to showcase their BEST skills in front of College Coaches.

Also, We will list the coaches and schools who will be there! Not invited but who have made the commitment to come.

When you go to Exposure Tournament you are hoping that the coach will see you hit, field or pitch while they are watching you play.  Depending upon the game, your player may not be seen at her best.

This summer our family attended and we participated in an Exposure Tournament.  There were 650 players attending. We were told 30 college coaches "planned" to attend.  We saw eight.

However, if all 30 college coaches had attended it would be impossible for each coach to  have time to evaluate each player's strengths during the games, because the "showcase" depends upon the plays which occur during the games!   It is very unlikely each player's best attributes were showcased to each coach.

Often during tournaments coaches may not get to see the players perform in all areas.   For example:   My daughter is a slapper.  Lets say during a game she gets walked at her first time at bat. Next batter makes the 3rd out and she doesn't get to steal or run.  What did the coach really get to see my daughter do during that inning?  Not a lot, and this is the consistent complaint we hear from college coaches.  We want the college coach to see your daughter perform in all areas.

Our EXPOSURE CAMP will allow your daughter to be seen at her best!  We limit the number of athletes attending to provide the best opportunities for each player. The first half of the day we  have the athletes perform in hitting, fielding, throwing and timed events.  These events are fun and challenging.  Our College Coaches LOVE this approach!  They get to evaluate each girl individually.  In the afternoon we play scrimmages so that the players/positions Coaches are interested in can be seen full circle.

Last year we received high praises from the 28 College Coaches who attended our EXPOSURE CAMP.  College coaches love our exposure camp because they get to see a well "rounded" program.  We are delighted to say that over 50% of our athletes who attended  last years' EXPOSURE CAMP received follow up phone calls from these college coaches who attended.  This is an IMPRESSIVE percentage!!!

In addition, we believe it is important the parents know which Colleges are actually attending so that parents can decided if one of those schools might be a good fit for the athletes academic and athletic goals.  We want parents and players to have an opportunity to be seen by College Coaches who represent the college of preference.

We sincerely believe this EXPOSURE CAMP is an excellent opportunity for softball athletes to be showcased in front of College Coaches.  Please visit our website for more information.

Please visit our website of listing of colleges who will be attending this will be update as we get the commitments from the colleges and universities.
