    Re: Leg Shaving

I don't shave and never will.  My girlfriend likes my legs just the way they are.  I've considered it, but I have a question.  Where do you stop?  Seriously.  So your legs are smooth but the rest of you is hairy?  Or just your legs and arms, but your chest and underarms are hairy?  Or do you shave EVERYTHING?

I personally think that guys who shave their legs are all closet transvestites.

(you may laugh now, that was a joke)

You'd never see Sean Connery with a razor in his hand & shaving cream on his legs, chest, etc.

    a) Learn not to fall down - if you do, so what

    b) Swim & bike speed? - Train harder

    c) Take up an easier sport or be a MAN

Let's face it....number one reason.... The chicks love it (all my female tri friends agree on this). First thing I look at when I meet a male triathlete. I check out the calves and they look so much better shaved.

    Re: Leg Shaving

I think that this topic is ridiculous.  I could say shave em if you've got 'em, let it grow but I don't believe it will make you go slow.  It's all a frame of mind, it's a head game. I once did the running portion with my zipper undone- what slowed me down was the part where I had to unzip earlier in the run.

    Re: Leg Shaving

I just stumbled into this site and I just had to comment. From this females point of view it is not sexy when men shave their legs, chest or ay other body part. It?s kind of creepy. And back away from the eyebrow waxing. Me should look masculine, not pretty.

Without a doubt....the post race/training message makes a HUGE difference without leg hair!!! All other points are vaild...(I suppose), but I dread that "hair pulling" feeling of you get during a message.

    Re: Leg Shaving

First I'd like to commend triguyjohn for going to a beauty salon to have his legs shaved.I think that took a lot of guts in doing that.Second,I've been shaving my legs for about a year now.I'm also a naturist,so I like to have that smooth and clean look on my legs.I have found that using a hair conditioner first, then using a womens quattro razor works the best.I also just started to shave everything else. From women i've gotten nothing but good comments on how nice my legs look.

    Re: Leg Shaving

I shaved my legs for my first race, wanting to fit in and look like I knew what I was doing.  I did it a week before the race and it took me hours.  I stopped at my upper thighs, but it looked liked I had on a pair of fur shorts, so I kept going up.  I also have hairy arms, so it looked riduculous not to shave them too.  The maintenance to keep them smooth was a daily grind and an extra 15 minutes in the shower.  It was just too much trouble.  After the race I let it all grow back and don't worry about it anymore.  I just train harder and still beat some of the smoothies.

    Re: Leg Shaving

Isn't life funny.  Good posting, but I found it somewhat amusing that I posted on Friday about Training with Achilles Tendonitis/Bone Spurs and got one comment with much needed help and shaving is close to fifty postings.

I too like the sensativity I feel in the water and on the bike while shaved, and the massages with no hair pulling is a must.
