Thanks folks!

Week one of work and swimming practices... : Tired and sore.  Replaced yesterday's run with a pool run, I think I am addicted to chlorine...

Gag: you still swimming?

Watch the ankles out there, the slush is hiding the holes in the road...

You weren't kidding    Cold, windy and slippery.  Almost fell coming out of the garage.  Shuffled the hood for 1/2 hour, tears freezing to my face.  There is som sun, hopefully the streets will be better as the day progresses.

At least we`re not in Manitoba... -37C, -48 with the wind... WOAH.  If it gets that bad, I`m hitting the pool for a water run.  In the meantime I`m gonna go check out the Montreal winter air as DF did this AM..

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

I made it out there this morning.. It was cold leaving the house, and I realized I should go back and get the traction grips, or whatever.. So I was able to convert my shoes to winter ones with those things, and it was the first time I ran with them it think.. I might have brought them before, but I don't remember a whole run with them.. Anyways my run was at St.Bruno, and I did a couple loops around one lake and a figure 8 to get back to it in between.. The total time was around about 1:10.. but I was pushing the baby stroller too.. I am going to classify the whole run as a hill run! Pushing that thing in the snow slows you down a bunch!! Believe me!.. Anyways, it was a beautiful day to run, and it is still gorgeous outside!! Get some spikes or drill your shoes, and go for it! I am hooked.. winter running is going to be my new thing!

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

What's everyone talking about ice and cold. I ran in shorts and a HR chest strap only this morning 20 degrees in my basement on the TM.  10 K in 48:12 getting closer to my short term goal of sub 45 minute 10k.
Did you run at Mont St. Bruno, if so how about we meet next week-end at Mont St. Bruno. I have yet to run there and would love to try it.

SS, Sorry won't be able to make it to Hurley's.

Rolyone: Yes next weeked it is! You name the time (Saturday, Early)assuming no hockey or work), and I will be there! I have it dialed, but there is still lots that I have to learn. So we can decide together the distance, and it is nice that all the trails lead back to each other, so you can't get lost!! ( So far)
Cool.. I will be looking forward to that all week. I am really fortunate it is so close, so I can get there as early as you want to make it...Headlamps??(check) hahah

I hope everyone enjoyed this nice day! Wow..Sunny!!

Truxx I was thinking more like Sunday morning if your available, or Saturday afternoon. Saturday morning My oldest has Ballet then drum lessons, thats when I'm home with the youngest bonding.
Also would you be able to provide directions to Mont St. Bruno.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

........truxx, make sure mollasses brings a Dr's note.... sadly I'm working next weekend otherwise I'd've wanted an invite.....

so the weather was totally beautiful around noon.... home to the top, 3 loops on the trails and then picked up the pace and headed home... 2:10 ... all things being equal I'll repeat the dose in the morning...

... as for the ice.... I wiped out at "grand vitesse" coming down the steepest part of my route and took a chunk out of my knee.... didn't feel a thing frozen/endorfin stoked legs.... just got up and kept going.... but when I got home and took the tights off.... impressed the hell out of boys but got the royal rolling of the eyes  from K..... not impressed...

Any body running in the am?

No Invite required if you wanna run with us you just say so.

Running on my own latter today sticking close to home. Mollasses wouldn't want to slow anyone down.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

mollasses ?!  wonder what that makes me..humm

1:30 around the hood, loops close to home. Weather better then yesterday, no wind, sun weakly trying to come out from the clouds.

On to cross training - shopping with the 11 year old.
