Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Pretty nippy out there today. Long run with a running partner of mine. Word to the wise, when designing a course to run, always know where the washrooms are.  Fortunately we were able to locate one in Maisoneuve park for him.  Following the run, time was spent on the information superhighway looking for rest stops (gas stations are your best friend).

I'll be at Hurley's Tuesday night following my run.

Have a great week everyone.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

..... I'd agree with TB on the temp, nippy[nice word].... I managed to find another couple of hours last night to repeat saturday's workout.... minus 1 loop. I love these trails.... runnig in the dark, they are sublime! Managed to stay upright the whole time, headlamp ablazing... tunes way too loud.... very focused on the floor...
About 28 miles for the weekend, 4:13... nice to have my mojo back !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/biggrin.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/biggrin.gif|border=0!

and now to work..... argh! !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|border=0!

..And I'll be tracking your progress and hopefully run some trails with ya.. and Mont St-Hilaire in the spring.

Just going to keep training to run the Hypothermic half then build up more milage after. Run the Whitface race and see where my training brings me. Wait and see what crazy Dan is planning for the new Jay.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

For sure, Gro, will be checking up on you  and you got your wish today, snow.

Anyone try to run outdoors today ?

Where are Chops, Knee, Omni, JB ? Shame, Montreal thread seems to be dwindling down to a handful of contributors.

No running today and had to cancel the pool plan. Make up for it tomorrow.

Going to be colder over the next couple of days..

Been thinking the same thing.

5.1 miles at 3:45 am 1 mile w/up, 3.1 miles @ ave pace 7.30 min/mile + 1 mile cool/down. I guess when you heat up molasses it runs a little faster. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/tongue.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/tongue.gif|border=0!

Yeah I made it out last night to try out the real snow thing!! I had my new winter shoes on, and made it to the park, and then after found a trail that looked like people had walked on at least.. So I gave it my best, and only made it about 8 minutes in there until it turned into the little groomed trail, and that snow was no good! So I just wandered around a bit more, and then called it quits.. I had a little wipe out, and after the numbness wore off I still don't feel any pain, so that is cool! It was really minor.. I have a lot to learn about different snow conditions for running.. due to the lack of experience. I know.. I am not used to training... haha
I hope everyone else finds a little spot to enjoy this stuff.. I am going to keep exploring and finding the best snow\!

It's OK Truxx. I wasn't going to say it anyway.....actually, I was but you beat me too it. My motto, if your car can't get through it, chances are your feet can't either! Todays another day though.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

My apologies for the no show this evening...sure you had a great time.  Went over to the MAA and put in my time on the dreadmill, some lazy swimming and headed home.  Will be tucking myself in early tonight.
