Hey Df as long as you get to do what you love. Then the hell with what everyone elses ideas of what running is about. Enjoy your runs, you will get stonger slowly.

....isn't it time we had a new page/title?..... must be roly's turn!

should be on my way to the gym at the moment but as I just got a more interesting offer which involves dinner..... I will rationalize this wimpitude by the fact that my quads are still complaining from the weekend and I'll get up even earlier tomorrow and try a little tempo thing before I walk the dog !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/biggrin.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/biggrin.gif|border=0!.... works for me!

Not me, that's for sure. Too pooped from work. Yesterday was also a day off and have a badminton tournament so tomorrow may also be off. Life is getting in the way of my running. STOP the WORLD! I WANT to GET OFF!

Keep it up Df. Wear your duckies though. Quack, quack.

Bump !!  Where did eveyone go ?

Group speed effort last night, under bright sunlight and on relatively dry surfaces..tired from the week, wouldn't have had the energy for a third set...c'est la vie.

Have a good weekend, enjoy the snow thats on its way..fly

I'm still alive Just been a little busy. Why can't all my runs be like the last two night. Just felt so energizing and pain free. My last two runs were about 5 miles each the Wednesday run averages a 7.39 min/mile pace. and last night average pace was 7.47 min/mile. Funny because Tuesday night I could hardly manage a 9:00 min/mile and quit after runnung 3 miles.

Hopefully Saturdays Long run in the snow at Mount Royal will as charged up.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

It's been a long and arduous training week and with the weather improving as of late, I was looking forward to a "easy" long run under ideal conditions. From the forecast this morning, it looks like there's no such luck for me.

Shin splint continues to be a source of aggravation on my part. I've accepted that this injury will cost me dearly in the race. My goal is to minimise its effects through stretching, strengthening and paying more attention to my running technique. Apparently, I've in light of all the running, my technique has become sloppy.

On top of that, the dvd I ordered from McMilan Running, never arrived so they'll have to resend another to me. Grr...

How is the 1/2 marathon training coming along guys?

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

TB – training ?  more like surviving…kiddin’, …I like to think I’m making some progress.  Hey, its my first April half, lets hope its not my last.

The shin splint, s*cks big time. I have a hard time thinking that your running has gotten sloppy cause you’re so disciplined…

I’m not happy about the forecast either !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/frown.gif|border=0!

Mercury – how was the tournament ?

Sally – take it easy.

Chops ?!  You’re alive !  Just in time to go to Lasalle next weekend.  !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|border=0!

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

TB. You need a tape job for the shins. I used to do it but I'm out of practise. It will make a difference. Any competent physio should be "capable." Called herring-bone with lock strips!

Easygo. I live in Lachine. Bring your shovel over. I'll prepare the hot choclate as you dig.

Df7. The girls got thumped, yesterday. Today, the boys won easily. We just threw the girls team together a week ago, so they can use a lot of practice, which they will be getting. Hope for them to break-even next time.

Gro. The voice reappeared today, unexpectedly at 12:40 pm as I was coming out of the Montreal General. Weird! At least I won't have to use my sign language.
