JB:  Congratulations big guy!  Welcome to the club.  Love the pics.

Now the that gastro is behind me. I ran with at the McGill track yesterday. Really fun. Unfortunately I wasn't aware that we were headed out there so I ended up running in a long sleeve and tights. Ugh.. I did not feel fresh afterward.

I would think if you are feeling fresh after a run then your just not doing it right. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|border=0!

Gomez where is Grommit, did you show him how to lick his wounds. Kidding aside so how are you, hope it isn't too serious and we'll see you on the mountain soon.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Welcome back boys. As soon as I figure out how to open up the Yahoo pics, I am sure they will be great.

Comeback of a sorts on my part. Phoenix / Jetty workout of 4 x 1K in 4:15; 3:58 ; 3:40 & DNF. Got a bit carried away with the fun and forgot why I wasn't there for two weeks and the pain in the ribs hit me suddenly like a sledge-nammer during the jog rest leading up to the last one.

To make matters worse, I got half-way there in the car and got a flat tire, so I ditched the car and jogged the rest of the way. The Phoenix gang were too cool as they drove me back to the car afterwards and changed my tire!!! Bill Ludlow wouldn't let me touch it! Had the next day off to re-coop and will try again today on the TM at an easier pace.

Got my Boston confirmation in the mail yesterday Should be closer to the front as my qualifying time was 10 minutes faster than my previous 3:13. I may get to see some Africans this time around! Great day outside folks. Could be shorts weather. Enjoy.

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

Hello Everyone! What a day! Beautiful out there.. I ran the furthest I have yet here from my neighborhood to the freeway and back home.  I would have made it to the river if I didn't have the jogging stroller, and that pedestrian pver pass with all the stairs. At least now I know how long it takes to get there.. under 45 minutes!
I got home right before we would have gotten soaked, but I decided to stay out in the drive way and clean off the stroller from all the mud that sprayed it on the trail on the way there.. I avoided the trails all the way home so it wouldn't get worse.

Let's see, Sunday.. I will be there! I am going to suggest 9:00am again, as it worked well last week.. Let's hope for a little more of this nice weather.

Mercury1, good work on the Jetty work out! I have to try that.. Maybe next Monday and Wednesday.. Or will the group be too full from their Christmas party?

Re: Montreal "cooler in winter" Runners

....... grommit's in a bit of a state of funk.... he's all healed up, his cold's all better, work is slowing down, etc etc...... ie. no excuses other than a mild attack of lerthargy..... in fact he's only run about three times in the last month  Should be able to fix that .... right?

what's with the weather..... am I the only one worrying..... everybody else is winding down the windows of thier SUV's and moaning that the golf courses are closed.... I want winter. Full-blown. With white $hit up to the door knob, six feet of ice on the lake...... hydro bills that blow yur socks off, the works.... I didn't come to Canada to get this UK weather-$hite

got new skis this year too..... WTF!! !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/mad.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/mad.gif|border=0!

planning run/ride with jr. saturday afternoon.... and an early one Sunday am ... you fit yet Roly?

Truxx, 9:00 am Sunday works for me.

Grommit, good to have ya back, we need to talk....i've seemed to have lost my running mojo. This plan of mine to work on developing a little more speed and entering ROAD Races DOESN'T MOTIVATE ME . So I will work on developing to run faster but to run faster trail races. You see when I think of races like Jay, the HAT, and other trails I kinda perk up a lot it's like heading into a long week-end. When I think of of road marathons I get the feeling of going to work on a Monday morning a nessesary evil that you gotta work thru to be able to afford a fun week-end.

So who else is up for a nice Sunday run on the Mountain.

Roly
