It is time for a confession. Many of you may think that my primary focus to going to Bellingham this past weekend was to run the marathon. Well... that was the driving force of the trip, but who can think of a marathon when there were so many other things to enjoy such as meeting cyberspace boomer friends such as Opie, Erika, Peter, Gordon, Tet, Soundie and little Miss Lynden?
When
...there was also a double birthday party celebration for two gorgeous boomer goddesses to enjoy?
And...
then there was the slumber party and the hours of giggles, hoola hoping, belly dancing, drinking, joking, toenail painting, and jump roping fun to be had with the birthday girls (Jura
, you were sorely missed dear sistahhhhhh)
celebrated his 30th years of marathon running
. Cheers to you Tet...you are such an inspiration to many of us.
ditched me
, being cheered by Soundie and Peter (Erika's husband) made me grateful for the opportunity to run this marathon.36 minutes PR
from my last marathon. What a wonderful report you wrote! I really enjoyed reading it and so wish I could have been there to take part in all that fun. Congratulations on totally annihilating your PR!! Gosh, maybe this is some new sekrit weapon of yours - drink and party and jump rope the night before and run a fantastic marathon the next day!
congratulations Mariposai!!

dear mariposai.
although I despaired after losing you on the mile four hill into the first of the forest trails, I knew everything was all right, and I couldn't have been prouder, when the mile six volunteers said, "your daughter said she's real proud of you Mr. Barefoot."
Like sounder's rr, you spend too much time honoring others but your perfect run and
huge negative split
after preparing the boomer reunion and birthday party, organizing the carbo feed at Guiseppe's, being in the rainy parking lot with sounder as I approached the finish, etc. makes it clear who it is to honor.36 minutes PR
A wonderful report, mari, my heart aches that I couldn't share the experience with you guys. I am glad you all had such a great time, what a wonderful party you organized! And a huge congratulation on the incredible PR, 37 minutes, wow! Your hard work over the summer really paid off. I am very proud of you. Another race, another time, we will meet up.

Congratulations on the GREAT PR. That is a PR by a HUGE amount.
Sounds like you all had a good time and everyone had a pretty good race.
Thanks for the fun report.

Impressive PR and a good time with friends. What's better?
What a fantastic PR, mariposai. I'm envious of the good time had by all the boomers. Congratulations.

What a greta race with a huge PR to boot! I too am always envious when I read these reports that include boomer meetings and "parties".
It sure sounds like you had a great time. You sure ran a great race, congratulations!

Dear Mariposai, thanks for such a wonderful report of not only the race but the other activities as well! I had so much fun, it was sometimes hard to remember we were there to run a race! You did so well, I was so happy for you. I was very concerned when we were out on the boardwalk and that wind was taking my breath away, I hoped you were doing ok. Sounds like you did just fine. Congratulations on your huge PR (I knew it was a PR, but didn't realize how much!), and for being such a wonderful party organizer. I know DH and I had a wonderful time... Thanks again!

Wow, 36 minute PR!!!! Sounds like a great time was had by all. I can't wait to go for a run with opie and collect a few more tidbits that occurred.
Congrats again on the PR,
Paul
A huge PR and a fantastic weekend with your friends. What could be better. Congrats Butterfly!

Hi Mariposai,
What a great report! And what an amazing race - a 37-minute PR is just phenomenal, especially when you had to deal with howling wind and nasty rain on part of your journey. Partying all night the night before a marathon seems to be the right prescription for some Boomer gods and goddesses.I'm glad that you all had such a good time, that the course was so beautiful, and that you ran such a greta race!
I know you'll be every bit as successful at putting on the Autumn Leaf Run as you were running the Bellingham Marathon!
