Thanks for the good report and the pictures.

It sounds like your Hartford gathering has shown the west coasters that the Northeast knows how to throw a party too.

Way to go, Lou! Amazing time for someone who claims to have hit the wall, but I know how it feels to have a goal and feel it slip away. Still, great race, great friends, and that wonderful smile on PDR's face! Wow, sounds like it was all worthwhile. Nice photos... my DH loved the description of Chez Lou's...

Anyone help the Pro back to his feet?

Congratulations on a great race and BQ! Especially from mile 19 to 26 which you said were a little brutal...way to dig deep for so many miles. I hope to be able to visit Chez Lou's Brews someday.

Not a PR, I'm afraid -- I'll need that 3:30:xx to PR (current 3:31:15).

Tramps - I have been thinking of my bonk, and I am wondering if I mismanaged my hydration. I had a 24 oz water bottle which I nursed until mile 12 or so to make sure I had something to wash down my gu and ecaps. I figured it was cool enough and didn't need much water, but in retrospect, I should have finished that bottle faster, then used the course supplied water. My other issue was that I was sick last weekend and traveled to the west coast, may have been a bit run down, but my money is on the water.

Best of luck in a few weeks.

I think that you need to have that Pilot stationed strategically so you can fill up with a little home brew for the second half.

Sounds like a fun weekend. I hope that I will be joining you for another round in Boston..

Yeah, no kidding. I did a COMPLETE double take with that one...

But, wow, your whole report just made me wistful to have been there. That's IT! I'm NEVER going on another fall trip. I'm missing too many good races and opportunities to meet up with such terrific fellow Boomers...

Lou, these things can sometimes be a an exercise in execution, and I see you're already looking at the game plan. The training was there and the talent is there, so next time it's just about tweaking the factors of race day implementation. It'll happen. And I'm not hedging my bets either the next time you and the Pro have it out. In fact, I wanna see that one first-hand!
