WS lottery - Dec 1st

I'm not entered, but I'm going to be in the area and will attend the lottery.
I wonder if there's a group run, or if anyone wants to meet-up for one, either before or after the lottery.
Nothing extreme, looking for about an hour run. Anyone?
I randomly met up with folks in the parking lot after last year's lottery, so if I you aren't able to make arrangements ahead of time, there should be someone to run with anyway. Be sure to smile when they announce "Bryon Powell" as an entrant for next year's race. ;-)

Yeah, if you wouldn't mind, please stack the cards in my favor
while you're there!

Hey roots - have fun out there. Do you still have my phone number? If so call me if they announce my name.
Good luck to all of you who are in the lottery.
Roots, you taking phone call requests?
I had a pretty good call list when I was out there last year.
Any other WS applicants out there who would be two-time losers (TTLs) if they don't get in on Saturday? I'm one of the many who would be in that boat and have done some thinking about it as it doesn't seem possible that the TTL provision will be in place after this year. I've written up my preliminary thoughts on the subject here:

I would love to know what you guys think.

I think that WS would benefit from a rule that if a runner finishes the race in a given year, they then have to skip a year before throwing thier name in the hat again. And, sure, I too say ditch the TTL thing.

i agree with this. I also think the qualification standards should be a bit more rigid, either 100 mile/24 hour race only, or faster 50 mile times.
i like the buddy system though

So I am a selfish b@st@rd for wanting to run this thing 2 years in a row? !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!
I agree with both suggestions for change.
And I like the buddy system as well. That's how I entered this year. It made the most sense.

Sure.
If anyone wants a phone call when their name is drawn, I will do so. Send me your phone number and (real) name to:
rootsrunner at gmail dot com
I will do my best to keep track.
Tim- I don't have your number. Email it to me.

And oh, BTW, I've been running some hills in Marin and the East Bay this week. Long quad-bursting downhills that I do not know of in Ohio. Thankfully I am not in the lottery, as I don't think my quads are ready for WS100!
Good luck in the drawing.

No, but it would be a reasonable way to cut down on entrants into the lottery. i love going back to races and seeing how i change on the course from year to year. You are not a selfish you-know-what.
Hi, Lloyd, have fun out there this week!
Just a comment -- if enough people enter and don't get in until their third try, shouldn't the numbers be getting up there in a few years so that only 3x appliers get in?
Take care everyone. -- Suzanne
