Anything by The Cult

Guns n Roses - Sweet Child of Mine

Lynard Skynard - "Sweet Home Alabama" & "Freebird"

Also like some of the old dance tracks - "Your a Superstar" is great if the energy is dipping

For 'inspirational' tracks you can't beat "Reach" by Gloria Estefan 

Absolutely great tune for inspiring a run, whether you listen to it while you run or any other time -

It's the words, listen to them, you can understand them.  It is about being free and being someone and running fast.  Totally cool.

Move Along- All-American Rejects, How Far We've Come- Matchbox Twenty, Forca- Nelly Furtado (SO GOOD!! Forca means strength, very inspiring), Bad Day-Daniel Powter... FallOut Boy seems to work really well for runs too, but the messages aren't as positive... though they are a little "I could kick your butt-ish"

and I totally agree about the "I Run for Life" Melissa Etheridge song-- she wrote that for a breast cancer charity run sponsored by Ford after she was diagnosed with it herself...

My Favorites are

Anything by Mortification, Diciple and 12 stones all of which get me pumped and make me wanna keep going.  My work out play list has heavy metal rock rap and techno everything I need to keep the mind going when the body wants to stop.

The Foo Fighters always manage to get me motivated.

Well, anything upbeat from Def Leppard goes on my iPod shuffle. But if I were to pick just 3 songs (from any artist,) I'd take:

(1) Def Leppard - Armageddon It,  (2) Sammy Hagar - I Can't Drive 55, (3) Bruce Springsteen -  No Surrender 

When I am completely unmotivated, I make sure I have some military cadence on the ol' mp3 player. Nothing like having a drill sergent help me keep pace and breathe. Otherwise, its a mad assortment of Atreyu's Doomsday & Crimson, Bullet4myValentine's Tears don't Fall & Hand of Blood, with a little dance music to round it out.
