I'm realizing that I need to switch up my music a lot and play some that aren't so familiar. I always used to run to Rockell's album "What Are You Lookin' At?" but now I need to focus on lyrics (and not on how much I want to stop running -- it's hard sometimes for a beginner!!)
My favorite ones for now:
"99 Problems" Jay-Z
"The KKK Took My Baby Away" Ramones
"Drugs Party in 526" GBH
"Punk Rocker" Teddybears STHLM feat. Iggy Pop
"Hey Boy" and "Little Stereo" more Teddybears
"Back on the Chain Gang" The Pretenders -- this one ALMOST borders on being too slow.
Also I have a song from my husband's awesome punk band, that's my pick me up bc he's my trainer and it reminds me of him encouraging me.
Question for you all: Where do I find military cadences? That sounds like something that might work for me. Are they on iTunes or should I check eMule or something?
Talkin' old stuff. I like "Magical Mystery Tour" by you know who, and Drivin by Pearl Harbor and the Explosions, but I listen to the recording that's in my head, not headphones or ipod stuff.
This is a great thread, just killed about 3 hours looking up songs I didn't know and adding some to my collection. I'd like to add some I didn't notice, sorry if i repeat.

Rock N Run (tm) I am looking for songs for Volume 2 to put on with songs that have "Run" in the title. Check out my updated website at www.rocknrun.us where you can order the Official Runners Cd that features 18 Rock Running Songs!
for some dig in and pump it out running; i like coldplay (for the mid run), to start out; i like ozzy (crzy trn, paranoid), for high energy, rihanna....(i know its a wide spectrum but it works for me.) Some motivating feel good music, try a little Kansas; for the old schoolers.
All or nothing!!
I always start out my run with INXS "the devil inside" and then move on to the killers "human" an "Spaceman" throw a little ramones in there and the police "Canarie in a Cole mine" Ryan adams Magick and finish off with Cold Play "Sex on Fire"... Works pretty well for me...
have you guys ever tried running to a podcast? if you concentrate on following the discussion, it will take your mind off the run and the time seems to go by faster.
