1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Dec 30th

Happy Sunday!!  Everyone ready for a New Year?  We're on the eve of New Year's Eve!

My mileage for 2007 (including yesterday's 9 miles) is 680.   I have 4 planned for tomorrow which should put me at 684 for the year.  That includes some treadmill running I had earlier this year.

Going with Runjr's idea....   Let's get our New Year's goals up with this week's posts!

WOOHOO.  Joe you are a genius.  I checked my restricted sites thing and this site was on the list.  Once I removed it, it let me login, plus realized I see a lot more stuff on the site that I wasn't seeing before, like the green login.  HA.

I will be back now.  I am going to try and do 5 miles today.  I am still pain free so far.  A good feeling I must say.

The Patriots/Giants game was awesome last night huh?

Well, I need to go read yesterday and update my profile.  Be back later.

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Dec 30th

good morning all.  I will run this afternoon, not sure but a little sore form yesterdays run.   Thanks for the shot blox advice to all.  I think I will pick some up today.

misswendy - I haven't tried the shoes yet because we have too much snow and slush on the ground, maybe today.  good 8 mile run.

joe - There is numerous amounts of information in the stever runner podcasts.  It sure breaks up the stale music on my mp3 player.   "Are you ready for some football"?  The next few days will be enough to hold me over for maybe a week.

Peg - welcome back, it is great you are finally in!!  That had to be quite frustrating.

Laurel - good luck on your long run today.

take care all!

Joe and Peg, I was watching the Patriots game and fell asleep in the 4th quarter. Man, it was a great game to. Joe who won the Penn St game? I was switching back and forth both were good games.

Peg , glad you made it home.

Laurel, I've never seen the movie. I was so thankful for that man tho. So was my son and his wife. Good to know people like that are still out there.

runjr, I bet the snow and ice can mess up a good pair of shoes quick. The only white stuff I run on is the beach sand!

I still can not get rid of the emails , every post is comming in. They just started up the other day. Haven't been getting them, just all of a sudden there they are.

Well if the storms will let up I'll get my long run in today. Going to do my 6 mile loop twice because it's close to home. To many lighting storms popping up to get far from home. The 20's look like might not get here till thursday. I'll try to have that as my off day.

spicegeek, I was looking all over for that box and it was right in front of my face!  Could not see it in front of my face LOL. Thanks for your help.

Joe, I've decided on three races. Feb 2nd the 15 k double bridge run then Feb 17th the pensacola Marathon, doing the HM of course and the the seaside Half. The Seaside Half looks like a real nice Half Marathon. Anyone close wants a beutiful run look at that web site. It's a small town close to Destin Florida.

I suggest that when you start a new week you have a link for the prior week's thread.  That's what we do on the monthly 50+ thread.  Here's the Christmas week thread: http://community.active.com/thread/24489?tstart=0  (Linking sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.  This time it didn't.)

Laurel,

I didn't respond directly because I didn't see your comment about my fence incident until after I clarified my identity crisis. Under either name, I in semi-decent shape scaled an 8 foot fence. Much better than a few years ago before I dropped some weight and began running consistently.

To all,

Got in 6 miles this morning. Originally was looking to do more but was a little creaky. My body must remember I have a birthday in a week and a half. Am finally going to get some cool weather rolling in. Cool at least for Central Florida. There was enough humidity this morning to temporarily steam my glasses.

Everyone have a great new years, but not anything that will keep you from working out sometime on the 1st.

Lastly, Go Gators!!

Re: 1/2 Marathon Trainers, Week of Dec 30th

I meant the 50+ thread in Boomers.  Like this thread, it's a community of folks.  The idea about having a link to the old thread at the beginning of the new is to provide an easy means of going back to prior discussions, not to revive the dated ones.  So people only post in the new one.
