I am a big fan of the ol' ds trainer 11. The 12 did not work out for me and I went to the NB 902. Resently I purchased a pair of the brand spanking new DS Trainer 13.
So far I like it.
One thing that drives me crazy though, is that all my other asics shoes have been size 10.5 and I am wearing a 11.5 with the new 13s. And my toes are still a bit cramped in there. I guess I will never get the comfortable feel of the DS 11's back, ever. Overall, it is going to be a good shoe. Its pretty lightweight and looks pretty cool too.
I just wish that shoe companies would not change their shoes every **** year. Or at least, if they put out a great one like the 11, they should just continue making the same model and never change it till the end of time! Maybe I should try a Loco shoe.
Anyone else try the DS Trainer 13???

I too love the 11 but my current pair are almost worn out and I can't find anymore... The 12s were very different and a 1/2 size smaller... I just gave up on them after they gave me foot problems during a race. My local running store doesn't have the 13s in in yet... are the 13s sized like the 12s and not as stiff?
Yes, they are more flexible but also sized funny.
Hey Asics, did you guys lose your shoe sizing templates and are now just eye balling it or what? I usually wear a 10.5 in most shoes, and i am weargin 11.5 in the new trainers and even that is a bit snug. WTF?
WTF in deed. Perhaps you should compose a strongly worded letter to the management? If I worked for Asics they'd be making DS Trainer 11s until the cows came home.
In my experience, the DS Trainer 12 is only running shoe I've had that was not a size 12. I had to get a 12.5 - I tested them out at the store by running around a bit. At an expo last year, I was chatting to the Asics regional rep about this. He mentioned that the DS Trainer was a hard shoe for them to get "right" so they keep tweaking it. I guess some tweaks are bigger than others...
In general, it's all about weight at a specific shoe size. Men's shoes are always quoted at size 9. I guess if you make a size 9 shoe that's 1/2 size smaller it's lighter compare to others in the same category.
