Th 17/08: didn't wimp out

I just didn't feel like all the clothes.......7 miles on the treadmill in our gym in the basement at 5 AM. It really is kinda nice to have the sensation of being soaked with sweat in January! :8}

It should be said, I'm a Florida native.....so I'm "one" with Gatorade.

Anyways, took my Thinkpad with iTunes on it to the basement and did the 7 miles watching the Spirit of the Marathon trailer and to music from the Conan the Barbarian soundtrack. (I know, my wife thinks its weird, too).

Plus strength and core work. I am convinced that a sound core not only makes you a better runner, it would have prevented the 4 month set back that sciatica has handed me.

Yea, I too stayed indoors today. 30 minutes of hard reverse elliptical followed by 20 minutes of moderate forward (normal). The sweat was flyin'.

Re: Th 17/08: didn't wimp out

Just for the record. I think sweating to death on the treadmill or other gym machines with peolpe watching me suffer is way harder than running in the cold. You guys are tough! And you have motivated to go to the gym more often. I woke up to 1/2 a migrain so I didn't get my swim in but I intend to ride my bike later when my headache goes away and the kids are busy.

I'm looking for new ideas to feed my family and my energy level. What are your favorite post-work meals?

I'm still debating on the gym or the road. I promised the dog I would take him out, maybe we will just play fetch in the yard for twenty min. I agree with jen, the treadmill is probably the hardest to run on for me. even when I go to the gym I would rather run around the track than on the treadmill.
