Road shoes for troubled toes

Hi - Training for my first 50 - I've always worn Asics Gel Nimbus for my marathons and wanted to stay in my road shoes for this 50 - Umstead 100 - fine for raod shoes. Heres the thing - I have a leg length discrepancy that I've recently found a lot of relief by adding 2 regular Dr. Scholl pads. My last marathon I lost a toe-nail and had a few beat-up, sore toes. I'm sure its from the pads pushing my toes up closer & hitting the toe box. I've just been wearing Injingis(?) and bandaging the trouble toes. I definitely need the pads SO should I buy larger Asics-I'm already a whole size larger than my street shoes but knowing my feet are probably going to be doing some swelling; go with an entirely different shoe-ample toe box room; OR is there another suggestion out there? Thanks so much

Perhaps you could go the size larger for length and then use after-market orthotics to fill any volume issues?

Hey Bella

I wear the Ascis Nimbus 9 and the Landreth 3 for road shoes. I also sometimes have toe problems with the Nimbus. If you like the Nimbus you should try the Landreth. The Landreth is roomier with a higher, wider toe box. I think that will solve your problem.
