Weight Watchers Walkers

I am looking to see if there are any other Weight Watchers that do walking and keep track of their steps? I have a group at work that are going to start Walking Across Kansas tomorrow. We combine everyones miles to get the miles across Kansas. I am going to try to at least walk about half across Kansas by myself. Just come in and join me for walking, I don't care where. Just walk. There is a Running WW group. But health-wise, right now, I am not into running.

I am a Weight Watcher from Vermont. My meeting group hasn't created one of these walking challenges. Good luck in Kansas. Exercise is KEY if you plan to lose weight! Linda

I live in Kansas! I would love to walk with you. Where are you starting from? Is it too late to join you? How far do you calculate it is across? What is your time frame?

Good luck!!

Re: Weight Watchers Walkers
Sure. I track my steps every day. I'm not currently part of any formal groups (although I do post on the marathoners board on WW Online), but walking is a large part of my fitness program. I participate regularly with the American Volkssport Association (www.ava.org), which lists walks for every state. My state, Indiana, isn't one of the best (usually only one walk per weekend, only on Saturday), but it's not one of the worst, either. Hey, at least it's flat! I wear a good pedometer literally every moment I'm upright. The other main thing I do for exercise is a core program off this site. I'm currently working on stamina and pace for the IMT Des Moines in October, where I will be doing the half-marathon with Team Prevention, when it starts up. Finished the OneAmerica 500 Festival Mini-Marathon this month, my first. So far, I've lost 37 pounds, a little over halfway to my goal.
