Check out this release from CNN.com, Nike, Apple bring iPod to gym near you . As techy as this sounds, it might be a really cool feature for data tracking efforts. What do you think?

I think it's a good idea. It certainly shouldn't hurt to make it easier for people to track their workouts. But what I really liked was the picture that came with the article; it looked like a group of headphone wearing cultists worshipping Zoolander. ![]()
I agree that if it helps take the guesswork out of all the data that can confuse and discorage people from working out. If it made it easier to track and share progress, I think folks would be more inclined to workout out and publish their data. And there's definitely something to be said about making your goals public

Honestly I think it's sad. You don't need to wear Nike shoes or have an Apple I-pod to track your workout data. Sure it's cool and trendy but the Nike+ system is not the end all be all. I love technology for technology sake but I get discuraged when if you want this you need to wear Nike shoes and own an I-pod.
