have you tried contacting the race director? maybe they can help.  you probably didn't know this but race directors/USAT don't like the unapproved selling of race slots and if they catch you (some races ask for ID at registration) they may ban you from racing USAT races for a period.  if you do buy a race slot go thru the RD

cool glad you got it. yeah I understand why they have that rule (no price gouging from speculators) but it also stinks when someone gets hurt and can't get rid of their race slot.
