labral detachment/hip

I am a 47-year-old female who plays tennis and teaches dance (twice a week) and have had been dealing with on/off deep soreness in my right hip/upper glut for about two years. It hasn't really bothered me but felt a sharp pain in the hip about a month ago when I was teaching and then had to play and hour and a half of tennis on it right afterward. Didn't feel so good the next day. PTs and my physiatrist thought it was just strained muscles. One PT thought the pain in my hip was coming from my back (don't do cruches - she said). Told me to rest and take it easy. I've been walking, doing some stationary bicycle riding and using the eliptical machine to try and stay in shape, along with some basic glut strengthening exercises another PT gave me. Wasn't really getting better. A week ago I started getting groin pain. Had an MRI arthrogram yesterday and it states that I have a "small focus of labral detachment involving the anterior-superior aspect of the right hip labrum. The remainder of the labrum is normal." I have only been able to find information about labrum tears and not detachments on the runners' forum. Can anyone explain what that means in terms of my long term prognosis for my current level of physical activity? I've stopped playing tennis and have been getting subs for my dance classes. Moving laterally doesn't seem very comfortable right now. What kind of treatment is prescribed? I've read a lot of about labrum tears in the runners forum - apparently arthrosopic surgery for repairing labrums in the hip is new and somewhat risky. My appointment with my doctor is not until next Wednesday and his nurse told me he didn't seem concerned about the labral detachment as much as me (I was having high anxiety!!) I don't know if these things really heal because they are non vascular - not much blood supply there. Any advice? Thoughts? Recommendations on doctors? I live in Seattle. Thanks,
