What KIND of runner are you?

Although I've been know to drop a bomb now and then on a run, I'm having difficulty classifying myself as one of The 10 Types of Runners

I've sure seen these interesting characters out and about, like the The Frightened Dog Swatter and The Human Cybertron

Do you or someone you run with fit one of these categories?

Toby thanks for the laugh though I am a little like you nothing really fits except maybe every once in awhile a bomb sneaks out. I have seen the high fivers and the lady's with full make up.

Sadly, I am The Stink Bomber (although I like to think of it as a little extra gas propulsion to help me on my way).

Me (and all the voices in my head) has reached consensus that I am the Paranoid Pepperspray runner. Always run with my pepperspray. I haven't sprayed anybody yet (for the record):p

Re: What KIND of runner are you?

Maybe we should define some other runner types..

I'd love to be one of those gravity defying runners that seem to skim along at 50% of the level of earth's pull that I feel.

What are they wearing, gravity boots for shoes?

Re: What KIND of runner are you?

I would have to say that I am a hybrid of the sloth and the sweaty guy. Sloth wise, I purposely try to run as efficiently as possible. However givent that 9 to 11 min/mile pace, I find my self tripping over the most miniscule of obsticles, the cracks, between each plate on the side walks, twigs, I actually have to concentrate when crossing a wooden bridge.

Also, on a reasonably nice day, on sunday morning long runs at the park, I always find myself way more drenched than everyone else. It could be 55 degrees out, and I look like I just took a shower with my clothes on. I try to where stuff that wicks well, and because of self consciousness hides wetness, but it just doesn't work. However I due try to drink while I run, especially when it's warm out.

Sadly, my classification isn't really listed. I would say I'm the Clown-Shoe Runner: slow and clutsy with awkward strides. Yet somehow I manage to finish anyway. :P

Re: What KIND of runner are you?
I thought the article was great! I've seen some of those myself, especially Doctor 90210...and the heavy sweating kind. However, I think I'd fall under the category of 10-Feet From the Sun Girl, since from the middle to 30 minutes after my run, I have a SUPER red face. I dunno why, I guess it is the only place on my body that I release heat. shrug It's why I wear a hat...

They wont give the time of day when you pass by.

Re: What KIND of runner are you?
I'd have to say that I am also close to the sun. My face stays BRIGHT red long after my cool down. And I say hello to everyone I pass. Yesterday during the 8K I stopped to hug my neice and her girl scout troop who were passing out the water at mile 3.5 . Which I guess also makes me the runner that doesn't care about her time :)

So another group name could be The Fun Runner. because you run for and don't worry about your time .

YOu go.

That would definitely be me, but does that also mean I'm a pschyo runner? Since everyone I know thinks that I'd have to be psycho to consider running "fun"? One girl at work always asks me "WHO WAS CHASING YOU? "

Re: What KIND of runner are you?
This was a lot of fun to ponder...but I have to say with great embarassment that I am a Stink Bomber. :_| Toward the end of a run, however, I turn into a Sloth and don't even have the energy to poot. Yay me.
