The Solo Bike Rack by Racor?

Has any one used this to store your bike at home?

I couldn't pass up considering this relatively inexpensive rack option. I plan on buying a road bike and my husband will most likely get a mountain bike.

Does it work for either type? My only concern was possible damage to the rim of the wheel.

Just looking for suggestions.

This kind? You hang the bike by one tire. I haven't used that kind before, it is putting a lot of weight in a small area. You would have to find a stud and securely attach it with a couple of big wood screws. It is inexpensive, but will leave holes and the tires will make marks on the wall.

How about this style?

Costs more, but is free standing and the bikes are parallel to the wall instead of protruding into the room. You could make something similiar with some 2x2 lumber, a packet of wood screws, and 4 hooks. Foam pipe insulation over the metal would protect the bike.
