What are you looking for specifically? Here are some sites that have some photography from myself and some of my bros. www.santabarbaraseals.com & www.goldcoastgroms.com. I also have a myspace profile at myspace.com/rinconjp. Hope you enjoy. Have a great day :o)

Peace,

Re: Anyone have any cool surf pictures or videos?

Is there any surf in Santa Barbara in the summer?  I have a friend that's taking his wife and kid up the coast for vacation in August and he was saying he's not even bringing a board because there wouldn't be any surf, but maybe you could say otherwise?

I can say that if there is a strong south west swell there will be waves here in Santa Barbara County. A few option that you have are : Drive to Jalama where you will find Beach Break that can be anywhere from 2-8 ft depending on the swell direction. The trick is to get  up there early because it blows out by 9-10 am. Ventura county is only 30 - 40 min away and has plenty of swell in the summer time that can accommodate their reef, point and beach breaks. Your friend is partially correct that there is less swell here in the summer time relative to Orange County, San Diego County and Santa Cruz.. Rincon is usually flat in the summer except for the occasional wind swell. Hope this info was helpfull and try not to tell everybody. :o)

Thanks, that was super helpful.  My buddy will be stoked.  And you should just delete your comment now so you don't have to worry about your favorite spots getting crowded!

I hate to tell you guys but Jalama, Rincon, and Santa Cruz would be crowded regardless of your discussion.
