What are your top three favorite songs to run to?

1. Peace Frog - The Doors

2. Been Caught Stealin' - Jane's Addiction

3. Faith - George Michael

At least this week. It's a crazy group of songs isn't it?

It usually depends how I'm feeling on my run but for the most part these three get me through the finishing push.

1) Stronger - Kanye West

2) Remember the name- Linkin Park

3) Click Click Boom- Saliva

Great post! Here are my fav. three in no specific order:

This Love - Maroon 5

Harder to Breath - Maroon 5 (I like to listen to this near the end of my run. "Harder to Breath" makes me grin as I run).

Ain't No Other Man - Christina Aguilera

I could list 5 but you only asked for three. I am now running 3 miles and I had to download some songs I really like to keep my mind off of the mental challenge of starting to explore running longer distances.

I wonder, how do you guys place your music in your run? I tend to like my "slower" songs (bpm) in the beginning when I like to listen to them, but the beat doesn't get my pace off course. I like the faster grooves for the middle/end.

I've discovered the harder the music, the faster I run so here's my list in no particular order:

1. Back in Black - AC/DC - really, anything by them - I dropped almost 5 minutes from my 5K time Sunday by running to the Back in Black album

2. Crazy Train - Ozzy Osbourne

3. I Don't Wanna Stop - Ozzy Osbourne.

Anyone else have any good, heavy tune suggestions? I need more!

1. Korn - Coming undone (my fav. right now, jordzmom you might like this one!)

2. Metallica (I have tons of old stuff on my ipod, and I love all of it, also something for you to check out if you are into the heavy stuff)

Move Along - All-American Rejects

Nickels and Dimes - Social Distortion

For races I play all my favorite fast songs on my playlist... Queen, Social Distortion, Beastie Boys, Blink 182, Scouting for Girls

Otherwise I just "shuffle" my songs for training runs, I like the surprise of not knowing what song will play next

I dont have a top three song list. I do have certain playlists that i listen to when i run

1. Grey's Anatomy 2nd season soundtrack - use for my shorter distances

2. Bowling for Soup - all cds - this is my fav to run my 5k to

3. Colbie Caillat - great to cool down to - she has song called oxygen that is perfect after a run.

I'm more of an old school punk/rock/brit pop guy, but for running I can't listen to the stuff because the tempo has abrupt changes every few minutes so it's all electronic music for me. A nice steady beat works the best for me and many of the albums are arranged so they flow nicely for a continuous playthrough. If Born Slippy by Underworld was 45ish minutes long, it would be perfect. As it is I think it's a great warmup song.

So here's my "three" selections

Daft Punk - Alive 2007 (A mix from a show they did with all their best songs)

Justice - Cross (really any of the French House stuff like everything on Ed Banger records, Danger, DJ Mehdi, Feadz, Uffie, etc...)

Underworld - Beaucoup Fish (A bit older, but an awesome CD)
