Jogging Stroller?

Hello all,

I am 9mo. pregant with my 1st baby, and am dying to get running ASAP once my daughter is born. Am wondering if anyone can tell me what jogging stroller they like/dislike so that I can make an informed purchase.

I've spent the last trimester on strict bedrest, and am really missing my fitness. I did find a stroller excercise class for new moms & babies, it however- involves walking....I run.....So, am looking for the best running stroller I can find!

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Elizabeth

Re: Jogging Stroller?

I am looking for the same information. I am 8 mo. pregnant with my first and am eager to run again. I am tired of being inactive! I need a jogging stroller that I can share with my husband, FYI.

Thanks!

Re: Jogging Stroller?
I have the Jeep Overland Limited jogger and love it. My 15 mo. old son does too. ( http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2887291 ) The music feature is really cool too. Another mother from my stroller hike group turned me on to this one when I switched from walking to hiking and running. The price is really reasonable. The only con would be the size/weight when folded. I have a Saturn VUE and it takes up the entire storage space. If you have just a car you'd have to take off the front wheel to transport it. Whatever you get, make sure it has a stationary front wheel, hand brake, tray for snacks (lil ones get antsy w/o their treats when mommy is trying to exercise), and at least some storage space. This is not a stroller for taking to the store. It is for exercise only. I think your little one would have to have some neck control before using this jogger too. If you want to get out right away, you'll need something with removable newborn/infant attachment. HTH

Re: Jogging Stroller?

When my darling baby duaghter was born I was asking the same thing - which jogger is best? Ended up not getting one and for what it's worth: first, I was perfectly able to jog - and `i mean jog - with our 'normal' pushchair, so for example the 25-minute walk to the childminder's easily became a 15-20 min very easy jog, plus a normal solo run home. Other similar journeys, to shops, friends, etc, were achieved by gently jogging rather than walking. Perfectly fine with normal pushchair on normal pavements (sidewalks on your side of Atlantic). Second, when I wanted to go for a run, I found/traded time and went for a run. On my own. As nature intended, not pushing a pushchair, just running. Which meant getting away from it all, getting some headspace/me time etc and also of course being able to run as I wanted, fast, slow, hilly, flat... htis meant I was able to address the fitness issue better

So I would offer the option of not getting a (pricey, and potentially superfluous) jogger, running solo whne you need to go for a run, and jogging very gently when you need to move from A to B.

Best regards

Huw
