Hey all I just had a question and figured you might be able to help so here it is..
I entered my first race last Sunday. It was a 12k and I finished it in 1:02. I ended up getting 3rd in my age group which was quite a surprise considering my pace wasn't exactly fast.. anyways.. I finished it quite easily and felt I could of run harder or farther.Now I am dying to enter another race and I found out that there is a half marathon on May 3rd and I was wondering if I could pull it off? Or do you think it would be too soon? Thoughts?
A half-marathon is a fairly big jump up in distance, but if you felt really good during your 12K then I say, "Go for it!" Two weeks is enough time for your leg muscles to recover from your first race so you should be in good shape for the half. I think you that will have a good time as long as you set reasonable goals for yourself. Let us know if you have any more questions.
