Well, I won't be there, but I'll be at the historic half next year. I just really want to see the silent drill team and they don't perform in the fall when MCM takes place...
Bailed on us again...

I can't believe it's been a year since I registered for my first marathon! I can't wait to register!
I remember that day SO well! I was so scared it was going to fill up so I kept trying to hop on and the site was busy. It was such a crazy day, I remember I finally got onto the site like 2 minutes before a meeting with my advisor and she popped into my office and I was like "I'll be right there! I'm registering for a marathon!" and she told me how she ran one either in college or grad school. I just remember thinking "Oh man, what did I get myself into..."
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

Hey, hanks for the info. I can tell by scanning the board this morning that this sounds like a fun group. See everybody in October. ![]()
You are so perceptive, Mike! We are a fun group and also very supportive of each other. So glad to have you aboard!!
A) Nita - the MCM 2007 was your first marathon? I was under the impression that you had run many! It was my first marathon too...I'm glad it went off without a hitch. It was fun training solo at nights and on the weekends, and the raceday weather was really ideal...what a fun time and minimum injuries!
B) Kat - I bet you were sweating bullets when you first couldn't get onto the site. Even knowing that it take days to fill up...every passing minute feels like an eternity! Kind of like when I gaze into your eyes... ![]()
C) There is a great bunch of folks on here...I wish I had more time to get to know you all better, just really busy lately! I post on a piano-related forum (although we never talk about pianos) and I know everyone there so well, wish I could spend more time to know you all better to. Maybe this time I won't be a slacker and will meet up at Carpool after MCM 2008!
D) I wish I was 23 again...granted that was only 3 years ago (26 on Saturday!), but those were the days... ![]()
Isaac, you're too young to be posting "back in my day" stories, but... Happy Birthday, dear! Hope it's a great one! And we def expect to see you at Carpool this year!
Yep, MCM 2007 was my first marathon, just started running several months before that, trying to see if I could run a 5K . I did. ![]()
I remember I had work schedule last year on registration day, had to be in a deposition and was freaking out. So I had my daughter register us both the second they opened and I couldn't WAIT for a recess so I could call her and confirm that we were in. I'll be here tomorrow, so I can do it myself
And she decided yesterday she really wants to run it again, although she was worried about being in grad school and working and not having time. Kat, I'll tell her to suck it up and run!

If I can do grad school and train, she can do grad school and train. We're all busy and make time... she can do it!
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

You are unbelievable. Did you see Jimmy's line about being passed by angels? You're like a little Jimmy-in-training.

I did see that line - very funny, and true!!
Also - I'm thinking about starting grad school soon...although not much time since I started an ad agency on the side for logos, websites, etc...that takes up most of my free time when I'm not working out, dreaming about MCM ladies, or going to summer concerts. ![]()
