Newbie with Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hello all.

I am a 39yo male who hasn't run in years, but I need to start again to keep healthy physically and mentally. The one thing that may hamper me is that I was dx with Rheumatoid Arthritis last year. Is there anyone else have Rheumatoid Arthritis who is trying to start running again? Anyone have any advice?

Thanks, Jeff

I read an article a few weeks ago that was saying Tumeric (the spice) helps with joint pain. I dont know how true it is but it couldn't hurt anything to try something natural and see what happens.

Re: Newbie with Rheumatoid Arthritis
I dont have RA but do have a mix of autoimmune issues, one is mixed connective dissue disease (which has symptoms common to RA, lupus and the like). I am pretty active already, but there are times where the joints really flare up. I have tried some meds not specific to RA (plaquenil) but they havent done me any good. I feel better after exercising, its the long periods of not doing anything where I really feel joint pain. I would advise to start slow but keep at it and hope your symptoms cause you too much pain. good luck-
