Hotels for MCM

Hello!

This is my first time running the MCM and my first time going to Dc as a grownup!  Does anyone have any suggestions for hotels in DC?  I checked the website for the race and they only have 5 listed but I saw a whole bunch not available (I'm guessing through the reservation tool).  So I'm trying to find one a little closer -- without having to play frogger with the highways!

Thanks!

Re: Hotels for MCM

Amy, there was a thread on this a week or so ago. The public transportation is good so where ever you stay should get you there without too much trouble. The hotels in the Rosslyn area are most convenient to the start and finish. I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Rosslyn last year and it was a great location. I believe there is a Marriott in the vicinity too.

Dig deep, people, you can do it!

Rosslyn or Crystal City / Pentagon areas are favorites.  The Metro runs to both.  Rosslyn is close to the finish.  In past years they have run shuttles buses from / to Crystal City.  There is also some discussion of this in the thread "MCM List of Participants".

Re: Hotels for MCM

Hello Amy,

Last year my family & I stayed at the Key Bridge Marriott (http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/waskb-key-bridge-marriott/) and we loved it.  It's not the lowest priced hotel but the convenience was worth it in my opinion.   Easy walk to the metro for sightseeing and for the morning of the race.  After the race, you can walk back to the hotel while the metro is jammed with people.  If you go to marathonguide.com (http://www.marathonguide.com/index.cfm) you can read other runner comments about the marathon and some have hotel comments.  I hope this helps; let me know if you have trouble with either of the sites.

Steve
