I have a cold, and a 5K on Saturday

Granted, I'm not a fast runner, I won't be 'pouring' my heart out... Though if this cold doesn't go away, my attempt may mean an exerted effort anyway. I typically run 12 min. miles. I'm new.

This cold really set in yesterday. I'm tired, it's a head cold. I'm thirsty and my nose is running all of the time. It's getting more miles than me.

I ran 3 miles on Sunday and on Monday. The cold started coming on Tuesday night, I didn't get home in time to ride my bike and I was tired by then anyway.

I hope to be in bed relaxing by 9 or 9:30 tonight. I have to be up for work by 5:00 a.m tomorrow unfortunately. I'll make it an early night tomorrow. I'll have to be up by 5a.m. on Sat too, I have to leave by 6 to get to the race to pick up my packet at 7 and race at 8.

Granted 5k isn't rocket science, but I don't want to walk. Hopefully my cold doesn't get worse.

Any recommended cold remedies? Though I totally get that recovering from a cold is all about time and that's about it.

Thanks for reading!

You should be resting. Your cold will not get better. I will have missed 2 weeks of training and at least 2 races because of this persistent, lingering cold. You must rest, drink hot tea, and try to sleep.
