Update

Well, as some of y'all know I just recently got back into running and I have good news from this past fridays run. I ran my 1.5 mile in 12:46 which is pretty good considering approximately 6 weeks ago I ran it in 14:06. So yeah I am kinda tootin my own horn here, just thought I'd share.

Excellent. Don't overdo your speed, though. 90% of your running should be at 65% to 85% of your max heart rate. No more than 10% should be at faster paces. A good, simple, estimate of your max heart rate is: HRmax = 205.8 − (0.685 * age)

Dave: Thank you for the reminder. I had forgotten the quick calculation on heart rate. Great caution! Thank you. I'm all about the stretching to avoid injury . . . but I always seem to forget the all important ticker . . .
