Where Were You When Fed Lost the No. 1?

Roger Federer's loss to Ivo Karlovic Thursday paved the way for Rafael Nadal to move into the No. 1 spot and end the king's 235-week reign at the top.

If Nadal wins Cincinnati on Sunday he will be the No. 1 come Monday. Either way, when the points from the first half of the season are wiped away in two weeks, Nadal will move into the number one spot.

This is an historic moment; something that can connect people through the ages around a time-stopping moment. Like other momentous moments in history, where you were and what you were doing when you first heard the news will be a constant refernence point throughout your life.

So where were you when you heard the king was dethroned?

This is a little embarrasing but I'm going to tell it anyway. I was in my boxers working on my computer while following the match on the atptennis live scoreboard via the web. This is a very reactionary way to watch tennis: long pauses of anticipation waiting for the screen to refresh. I was stunned when Karlovic won the final point.

At work. Also following the match on ATP site. I was glued to the screen. And when Fed lost I yelled in frustration. Needless to say a few of my co-workers came by to check on me...

Don't know what bogus rankings you fellas are referring to, but Federer is still top of the charts according to ATP....
