Recipe review

 

So last night I made the Red Beans & Rice recipe that was featured in the recent issue of runners world. I should caveat this by saying I have never been to the Gulf Coast so my reveiw should be taken with the grain of salt you would give an east-coaster

 

 

That being said, I think the meal turned out quite well. It was a bit time consuming to make (took just about an hour), but has a nice flavor to it and is quite filling as well. I also brought a batch to work today and it reheated very nicely. I may play with the spices a little more next time (adding more hot sauce) but I think for my first attempt it was a good meal.

 

 

Another thing to think about is that the recipe out of the magazine makes a very large batch...I have enough leftovers still for a few more meals.
