im in the middle of my xc season and all of a sudden my right leg has been driving me crazy. ive had some problems with shin splints in the past, but this seems totally different. when i run, my calf becomes extremely tight and painful. the pain continues down my leg to the top of my foot. my toes become numb and tingly and the muscles in my arch hurt so so much with a sharp pain. also, my interior shin muscle becomes tight/painful. all this gets so bad i have to really push myself to keep going. its really effecting my times does anyone no whats going on?
Sounds like it might be referred pain coming from a compressed nerve in your back. Your symptoms sound like they might be in the L5 region, which is the lowest segment in your spine. Do you have back pain?
