Do I need a qualifying time to participate?

You do not need a qualifying time for the “People’s Marathon.” However, you will need to be able to maintain a 14-minute per mile pace to Beat the Bridge- All runners must reach 14th Street Bridge (Just before mile marker 20) by 1:15 pm. At that time, the street will reopen to vehicular traffic. If a runner does not reach the 14th Street Bridge on time, he or she will have to board a straggler's bus and may not finish the race

I did this marathon last year and was worried sick out of my mind about that bridge but I made the bridge and beat the thing with I think an hr to spare...I think the fear of it and adrinline made me run faster.

I wouldn't worry now if I were you

oh as for the ipod, I had mine too, even have pictures with me wearing it...no one said anything to me about having it. I think its a rule that you can't use it but not enforced.
