Tueday is a running day!

This late in the day and no one has started this thread yet? odd!

My office went out for our second group run, prepping for the Shamrock Half. We went to the three mile trail down the road the circles a golf course. Was feeling pretty strong, finished one loop in about 24:30, and then turned around and ran it again in the opposite direction. Took the pace a little bit easier on the second lap and finished 6.09 miles in 53:58. (last .1 crossing the parking lot to get to everyone else.)

Pace felt very good, and hopefully I can keep up this effort, makes me feel really good about making (and breaking) 2 hours at the Shamrock.

I have been aching to get out for a run but I'm bogged down in work. Stupid finals. I'm going to go for a run, I'm just not sure when I'll reach a point where I feel comfortable stopping. On the agenda, 20 min run, 10 min hills/stairs and another 25 min of running.

Wanted to run today, but volunteered this morning, then ran a boat load of errands, and now it's into the kitchen to start the thanksgiving cooking.  Tomorrow morning before I start cooking (again) I'm going to run though.  Either 5 or 6 miles.

Aren't meetings just so much fun, but they do want to make you run (away.)

I like running at night. I run where there is very little light, apart from moonlight, but I have no trouble following the bike path and running trail. Both have been in use for decades and are very well-maintained. I believe that I like running at night because I am so much more comfortable in cool weather.

I don't know how some of you guys (Jimmy, Nita, etc.) run in the south during summer. I just could not do it.

I'm all with you, I'm absolutely amazed that people can run in hot weather.

I did it. 40 minutes of hills. Kicked my @ss. It should have been 55 minutes, but I was beat after run/walking a 15% incline for 10 minutes. It reminded me of a stress test. Holy cr@p, my heart was beating through my chest, my legs were burning and my ears were ringing. Ridiculously good workout, but not one I see getting easier any time soon.

I ran 3.5 on the treadmill at 6am,  I didn't think it counted and I certainly wasn't starting a thread with that.  At least it's something though.   oh and 1/2 hr weights  for good measure.

Yep, I got to run today too!  I went to the gym and did a buns/core class and then ran on the treadmill for 40 minutes which was then followed by some serious stretching, a bubble bath, and ice packs.  I'm looking forward to the Turkey Trot on Thursday.  I have no expectations that I will run the race fast or even come close to my usual 5k pace...but, I get to RUN A RACE!!  WooHoo!

    I will run for cupcakes!!

I ran a strong 5.5 miles tonight.   The first 5k was 24:00.  Haven't checked any other details on the GPS yet.

Holly, which Turkey Trot are you doing?  My friend Tony is doing one down in Richmond.  He was on our team for the autism race, so if you're going all the way down there for your run, you can look for the short, young, hairy guy!

Re: Tueday is a running day!

I did my tempo run this evening after work.  Six miles: 1 mile easy, 4 @ mid tempo (8:05), 1 mile easy.  The temperature was very nice, but it looks like there may be some weather moving in over the holiday.  First mile: 8:58, miles 2 - 5 went like this: 8:00, 8:05, 8:04, 8:03.  Finished up with a 9:22 cool down mile and took it on in.  I put my thigh wrap on this evening and my hamstring didn't bother me at all, so that was very reassuring. Cross training day tomorrow.  The Thanksgiving Day weather isn't supposed to be that great - cold and rainy for most of the day.  I took a pass on the Thanksgivng Day Classic 10 Miler that I ran last year.  I just wanted to focus on the half marathon in December that I signed up for and the Phoenix Rock N Roll in January.  Have a great holiday everyone.  Talk to you soon.

Jen, I think Irish Chris might be running the trot downtown. I need to be in the 'burbs at 10 am to help Chris' grandma cook, so I think I'm going to have to miss it I'm hoping Chris will be tired and oversleep, but considering Germany is six hours ahead, I doubt it. Have fun!!!
