Len, I'm starting to think I'm related to Sue, as well as to Blur.
Ok, I just have to get this off my chest once a year.
Dear Bono:
No. They do not know it's Christmas time. There are no carols, and bells, and no holiday festive effing cheer, because they're in AFRICA. By and large, they are not Christians in that part of the world, though of course there are large swaths of Christianity in places like Ethiopia and Eritrea since of course that's where the Apostles used to hang out. But for the most part, if they do know it's Christmas, they likely don't care. They're more excited that Eid al-Adha starts next Tuesday, in some areas, and some areas are still busy being animistic and worshiping traditional African deities. And you know what? THAT'S JUST DANDY.
And there will, in fact, NOT be snow in Africa at Christmas, even though deserts get notoriously cold at night, because MOST OF AFRICA IS BELOW THE EQUATOR. Guess what that means? That's right! IT'S FRIGGIN SUMMER!!!
Thank you. I expect you'll hear from me again next year.
Sincerely,
FireCat
....phew. I feel so much better now. Thank you for allowing me to express that.
Disney's folks at one time turned the Lion King into a newspaper cartoon, once having all the happy creatures preparing to celebrate the "winter solstice," an event which happens either daily or never at the equator, depending upon one's politically-correct perspective.............

HAHAHAHAHA, that's priceless. I actually applauded just now.
So, I come into the office today and our lead is back (she was out yesterday)...as soon as my coworker turns on the radio back to that Christmas station, she pipes up 'Oh, Heck no...I am NOT listening to Christmas music all day.'
So we are back to the rock station this morning.
And all was right in the world. ![]()

Oh Holy Night is my fav. Christmas music is resevered for decorating day, Cookie baking day, Mixed into holiday parties, and maybe on Christmas Eve and that actual day. Any more and my ears will explode.
Most of you know my full name and my middle name can be easily confused with Caroling. I prefer to be mute during the holidays. ![]()
