Ranking High School Players

Some players get alot of hype but dont live up to expectations. I dont know how some of these players can live up to the hype of being one of the best players in the country by some of these rankings.
ranking players puts a tremendous amout of pressure on kids to perform at high levels. It can sometimes be too much. Lebron James for example, is a special case. He had more publicity than anyone ever in high school and he handled it. it could be very detrimental to a kid if he doesnt live up to the hype. But on the other hand, ranking players and getting more exposure to high school gives more players college opportunities. So i think there is good and bad with it.
its a shame bc so much hype on these kids at such a young age. Lebron was a special case and now it is good that all kids are required to go to college for a year.
Or take the brandon jenning route to europe. But even a great talent like Jennings is struggling in Europe. They have good ball over there, Those teams overseas are better than college teams so even that leap from high school to Europe can be a bit too much.
well jennings who was one of the highest ranked point guards chose to go overseas. He is only 18 living far away from home and a completly different lifestyle. Eventhough he is struggling this experience could help him.
I wouldnt be suprised to see more kids do that. There is also big big money, take care of your family a couple years before you can if you go to college
yea i wouldnt be surprised to be see some kids especially those in poverty stricken areas to go overseas to make that money right away. I wonder if any of the top players this year will jump ship
I think you will, I wont be suprised if you see alot of prep school players, like Oak hill and Findley prep players, go to europe. I feel that might be the new stepping stone to the european leagues. A kid transfers from public school to a big time prep school so he can get looks from euro scouts. Im not saying this is going on, but i might just start spreading the rumor

if this rumor is false im sending right back your way fin gerolz. I think you have the international experience. Where are you from orginally? Sweden? I think Fin is a popular name there, but Gerolz is throwing me off.
I am very close with FIn and I think I can answer this question and You are correct, he is named after my great great grand father, Fingus, he was the innovater of the sweedish style of hand ball. Gerolz comes from his father side of the family, they were migrant dutch farmers.
that is some good gerolz family history. Now if we only knew the whereabouts of marionberry. Im assuming Minnesota.
I heard he got trapped in a blizzard in minnesota when he went to the Viking-eagles playoff game. I hope they didnt amputate his fingers so he can post some more on the forums
I think Marion will be fine i just flew home from Minnesota the other day. Not known for their hoops i know they have two talented seniors one of them is going to Minnesota i think. That program is on the rise with the hire of tubby smith and the decline of big ten basketball. I also belive they play in the oldest area or top three oldest for college basketball called "the barn"
I agree, the golden gophers are creeping up the polls. Tubby is turing that program around. They can get some good recruits up there.
