Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

Hey all, did week 2 day 1 today, I think it was easier than I thought it would be.  I thought I had one more set and was ready to do it an the music stopped.  I liked this weeks podcast better as well except that he changed the signal and I was a little thrown by that but other wise an awsome start!!

In response to the collarbone ache, never happened to me, you do not have a seam or anything that is rubbing in that area do you?

Did week 2 day 1 today! Along with week 2 day 1 of http://hundredpushups.com/index.html and http://www.twohundredsitups.com/  ... the pushup and situp exercises are good to do after your run just in your room or something before your shower. Anyone looking for a little strength along with the running should check them out!

Keep goin!

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

Hi everyone, Smash, I will start w2d1 today and walk 5 minutes the jog 90 sec and walk 2 minutes. I meant I just can't imagine being able to run any amount more than 90 seconds. Of course, now I'm excited to see how I do. I really hope it's not too hard. Good luck to everyone this week.

I got out of work late so I did not get to tackle day 1 of week 2. I will hit it tomorrow.

So... I'm going to do W2D2 tomorrow. Day 1 felt pretty good, but I could definitely feel my out-of-shape-ness. I'm excited to get better! I'm using songs on my ipod to measure time, and upbeat songs with a running pace keep me going.

How is everyone handling week two? keep posting! Rah rah rah!

Ok, sooook, my right heel hurts.  Could this be from the program?  I expected shin splints, but my heel, I can barely put any weight on it today, just started hurting last night.

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

I also did week 2, day 1 this morning.. went a lot better than I expected! I slowed my pace a bit from week 1, and that really helped. I felt myself get into a "groove" and felt that I could have continued for a lot longer.

I started doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred yesterday, think I'll continue to use that on off days from C25K. Yesterday, I did the beginning level 1 workout, and even that was super tough!

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

I did day 1 of week 2 today. I am hurting. I finished it but barely. My right shin has a sharp pain but only on the right side. Both calves and thighs are aching. I am walking a little slow. I am having a hard time slowing my pace and I think this is an issue. I have a very fast walk and when I go to run I think I am pushing to hard. Any paceing recomendations here?

Summergirl:  How is the Shred?  I asked for/received it for Christmas and am a little scared to open it!  : )  I'm looking for something to do on my off-running days and didn't know if this would be too intense.

Did W2D2 today and still feeling good!  It's not easy yet, but I'm able to complete it.  Very proud of myself for sticking with it so far!

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

Morning all, I will be doing W2D2 later today.  I will be doing it indoors today as I have a meeting this morning so I have to do it later while at the Y, but think I will do it on the track and not the treadmill.

Jerry, my shoes are good, after really looking at me foot, there is a bump on the outside of the heel and there is where the pain is coming from, not sure if it is a bruise or something else, if it is still bothering me next week I will go to the doc, but I really do not want to because I do not want to stop the program.

Prosopis my problem is the opposit of yours in that I am probably going to slow.  Sometimes my "jog" is no faster than a bouncing walk.  But I think in order to slow down your run you just have to really think about it while you are doing it and be aware that, whoops need to go a bit slower or the pain will come.

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

Hi Everyone,

I also started C25K on Jan. 5. I completed week 2, day 2 today. I have a non-running question. I have downloaded the podcasts that go along with the program, but I can't get them onto my MP3. I downloaded them on my new Mac, recorded them to CD, tried to put them into my Motorola MP3 using the program on my old computer, but it doesn't even recognize anything on the CD. Very frustrating. I hate keeping track of the time while running. It would be so convenient to listen to the MP3. Can someone with technical knowledge tell me what I am doing wrong?

Re: C25K starting 1/5/09

Prosopis, on the treadmill I am doing a pace of 4.0 mph walk / 5.5 mph run... I am for sure on the couch potato end of fitness spectrum.  This seems to work for me so far and it keeps me in "exersize mode" during the walk, rather than cool down mode.  Last week I did one day on the track and I could not tell at all what my pace was.  Did D1W2 today and treadmill, and I much prefer keeping a consistent pace since I would like to have a rythm to my breathing and steps. I am going to try and keep the same 4.0/5.5 for the whole program.
