music on race day

hi there, anyone read the official rules of the race? I was just wondering if I can listen to my ipod while running on May 25? normally racing rules say runners cannot have anything that helps with pace, like music/ipods, the only exception being a watch. If anyone knows or knows where I can find out, please get back to me.

thx, allen

What race on May 25 are you refering to? Did you look on the official website?

While most races do not condone the use of headsets and many still do not officially allow them, most will not throw you off the course for wearing them. You probably would be disqualified from any prizes though.

The rule that disallows headphones has nothing to do with music being a pace helper. It is for safety and insurance reasons.
