I see threads with teams forming from all over but haven't been able to connect with my own area. Trying again. That's what this is about - not giving up.
I live in Lafayette, CA . I've been walking for a year now with my rescue Wire Fox Terrier. He makes me get out there rain or shine, hot or cold. It's changed my life - lost 25 lbs and feel differently in my body than ever before
I'm ready to add some running. I was thrilled to get the teamweightwatchers info at just the right time. Help with training and someone to talk to other than a terrier! I want to try to run (or at least mostly run) a 5 K by August even though I haven't run more than a minute yet. My other goal is to increase my distance. Right now I'm walking the Rez in a hour - want to be able to go faster and farther.
There are trails all over this area as well as the Lafayette Reservoir - lots of places to walk/run. Anyone out there ready to form a team with me? Don't leave me alone with the Terrier!
I do the Lafayette Moraga trail regularly, but I am open to the resivoir. I used to do it in 45min but it has been many months. I do some running when alone, but when I bring my dog she always cuts me off. She needs some training.
I've stopped taking my little dog - he cuts over, he stops dead and last time rolled in the clover for many minutes!
I end up doing the trails around Lafayette mostly then the Rez at least once a week. What time do you walk or could you walk?
I'm trying to get some folks on a Concord thread to join up with me but haven't gotten any replies. I've been suggesting the trail behind Heather Farms to be between Concord and Lafayette. I'm thinking going on trails all over would be helpful for the boredom factor.
My email is email@example.com if you want to talk directly.
I'm in Orinda and am out almost daily either in the gym (Club Sport Renn in Walnut Creek) or at the Rez. Which weight watchers meeting do you go to and where? I'm in the Wed 11:45 group in Walnut Creek. Anyway, I'm happy to take up the Rez run. I'm running my first 5k on Saturday morning but I'm happy to train for more.

I live in Antioch, but work in Lafayette and have a teen in school there and a teen in school in Concord. I would like to find a walking group too and depending on the day and time any of these cities could work.
Any luck getting a team together???? I am available most evenings except Wed but not until 6:30.
We've got a team just starting - Weds or Thurs evenings alternating with a morning walk. We're still getting it together - many of us are in the Friday morning WW meeting at the JCC on Tice, Walnut Creek. Some of us will be walking tonight (April 29) at the Lafayette Rez.. Not everyone has answered back with which day works best so get your vote in and join us!
My WW meeting is Wed night in Concord. Most other nights are good but I don't get home til about 6:30 as I take public transpo to/from work although I could possible drive one day to make an earlier walk. The Canal trails are good as is Lime Ridge. Mornings will not work for me. That does not mean that I cannot walk on my own or with a neighbor.
I'm still working on getting in shape but am up for it.
I also go to the wednesday night 6:30pm WW meeting and would be interested in walking with a group. I live in Concord and usually go walking on the walking trail behind our house and on the lime ridge trails. I work full time and am usually home by 4pm and would love to walk with others. I have a 6 month old chiuahua puppy that I usually take walking with me. He has all his shots and loves to walk.
Please contact me either by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or at the Wednesday night WW meetings to discuss times/locations anyone would be interested in meeting to walk. I also belong to 24 hour fitness if anyone wants to meet there to work out together too.
Hope to hear from anyone in my area who wants to get in shape.
Hi Vina and group,
I live in Pleasant Hill and work in Walnut Creek and would love to to join your group. My schedule is usually flexible, but I have two kids to drag around and so late afternoon/evening can be difficult sometimes. I can schedule my mornings as needed to be able to join you. When are you scheduled next.?
I am also walking with a group that my Weight Watchers instructor started. It meets at 8:00 on Saturday mornings at Heather Farm. I'll check with her to see if we can extend that invitation to this group as well.
