I can't even run a mile right now let alone 13.1 but I will attempt to and plan to train hard. My team is meeting once a week but I know we have to train on our own, but would prefer to run or train with others as mush as possible. If anyone wants a run or train buddy in my area, email me or reply to this. I also am looking for advice and tips on how to get myself ready, I am very nervous about this and I think the more people I have supporting me and pushing me the better chance I have at completing this!

Congrats on you starting to run! I used to live in West Covina.. now in Fontana. I did my first half marathon this past Feb and I followed a free training plan from this website. That really helped out, and so did my ipod!
You can also do the Couch to 5k training and add the extra miles for the half. Have you signed up for a half yet? My next (or third half) is 10/17 in Long Beach. Great weather and great place to run, if you are interested in signing up for it. We can talk til then, meet and figure out how to run together! I'll be 18weeks at that time, first kid.
Anyways, you can do it. Get some great music to run, Nickelback works for me!
Hello, good for you you can do it just put one foot infront of the other and stay dydrated. I wish you lived in L.A. I am also looking for a training partner they are hard to come by alot of people commit at first then they drop out! Well good luck. I am always Happy to hear a new runner is coming around!
I'm in LA and hoping to do a half marathon next year (I never have), and need someone committed as well. I'm just getting into running myself-not completely a couch potato (finished a bout of crossfit training, taking boxing)..so my cardio is ok, but I need to make running a regular thing. let me know if your'e interested in training =)
