There are only a couple of bids available – here are the details.

The American Council On Renewable Energy (ACORE), a DC/SF based non-profit sponsors the race, and as part of their sponsorship receives a number of race bids.  They then ask for donation in exchange for entries to help offset the cost of the sponsorship.

Normal race bids entries cost $400, if you can get one (there is only a 1/3 chance of getting in after you qualify).

Through ACORE, you can reserve a bid for a $1,000 donation, all of which can be written off (and you’re supporting renewable energy!).
