Cal Ripken WS- Uneven Pool Games ??

Maybe it's just me being biased , but the CRWS International Pool has 6 teams , yet they only play 4 games to go through to the Semi Finals.

At time of Post Australia was 2-1 with one more game to play against Mexico ( the raging hot favourite of the International teams at least ) But Australia never gets to play Canada. With all due respect to any Canadians, the Mexico CR team is far superior.

Surely standard pool play should mean that all teams play each other at least once in the pool?

Monterrey, CA always makes it to the Pony Bronco final, because they host the Pony Bronco World Series each year. They get Byes until then.

Some pools can have more than 6 teams, but only play 3 games. A couple of years ago my son's team was in a pool of only three. Everyone ended 1-1, but our manager thought the tie breaker was "runs for" and not "runs against," and managed the team that way.   Two teams advanced and it wasn't us. The team we had destroyed went to the Pony 13U World Series and lost in the final to Puerto Rico.

Not all teams play each other in their pool in Region tournaments, but in the LLWS they do play all teams in the same pool.
