a5K walk

 

I am having a really terrible time  finding a 5K walk in the San Francisco East Bay area. Does anyone now of any? So far the only one I found is one somewhere in San Francisco. Sorry. I wont go there. All others I found were held last year!

    There is a 5k in SF on July 5th, the Mission Rock 5K.  Its the one this site will point you towards.

    The Faith Fancher 5K Breast Cancer Challenge Walk/Run is August 22, 2009.  I just found this one myself and I think I will register for it.

    There is also one in Castro Valley on July 12th  the "Run to The Lake" sponsored by Eden Hospital.   Walking and running.   http://www.edenmedcenter.org/events/run2lake.html

    I forgot to mention that the Faith Fancher walk is in Oakland at Lake Merritt.

    Hello,

     

     

    I have already registered for the Eden Hospital 5K walk and I will check out the other one you mentioned. I am a member of a team which walks around Lake Chabot every Saturday morning. We don't walk around the whole lake. It is supposedly closed, but last Saturday I could not find any of the team members and today I met up with only one member. I think it would be OK if you joined us. We meet at the boathouse at 8:30 am on Saturday mornings. Some of us walk at leat 5 miles, but some members drop off and return earlier. Which is OK. You do what you feel up to. There is no preassure to walk a specific distance. Whatever distance you can manage is applauded.

    Hi

     

     

    I am part of a WW team that walks on Friday nights at Lake Chabot at 6:30.  We can handle more.  Some of us walk, others run.  We meet at the Marina over by the exercise rings and exercise stations.  I actually will not be there this Friday, but our team leader and coach Ben will be there.  If you are interested let me know and I will send you his contact info.  The group shows closed on the Walk-it challenge site, but most people have never come so he is open to others.  Most people are going to walk in the CV 5K since the Mission Rock one was closed and this one is local.

    Hi Clara and others,

     

     

    This is Joni from the Saturday morning walks!  Was looking through the posts and saw your post.  I'm so glad to hear you went walking last Saturday.  Sorry, me, Mike and Peach were not there.  One Saturday we were at Utah and last Saturday we were at the Dragon Boat races. We will be there again this coming Saturday (June 13) at 8:30 like normal.  If anyone would like to join us, please fill free! 

     

     

    We did the 5k Lake Chabot Trail Challenge Sunday...  What a challenge it was!  The 5k was on the side we don't normally walk on, and that's the side with hills!  I wasn't ready for that at all, but I did finish, and that's all that matters.
