Excited about 2008!

I've read quite a bit about the new facilities in Beijing and the efforts to improve the air quality and human rights issues the city has been facing. The facilities are amazing and being built at such a brisk pace that contractors are being asked to intentionally slow down the pace; the air is improving with a million cars being taken off the road to improve the quality; and the city is taking serious steps to confront some of their human rights issues. 2008 is shaping up to be one of the most impressive Olympics on record...

    I'm also very excited about the 2008 Olympic Games! I don't know where it came from, but I've been obsessed with the Olympics for as long as I can remember. Did you know that Beijing has planned the torch relay to summit Mt. Everest?

     

    I actually priced flights from Chicago to Beijing because I thought it would be a run adventure to go over there and be a part of the experience for my first time, but roundtrips were over $1,000. So I think I might wait for Vancouver 2010, London 2012 and/or hopefully Chicago 2016!
