RR: Laurel Highlands 50K

Hey friends! My race report is up I think some funny formatting stuff happened, so if you can't read it, please let me know so I can try to fix it.

I'm feeling pretty good today. My toe still hurts but my ankle will be fine. My body is a sore, but I can get around. I'll consider it a success!

I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

I got myself a shout out on the race report.  Yippeee.  Sounds like a fun race.  I love me a challenge!  Congrats on your accomplishment.  Now we need to find you a 50 miler.  I need to find me one.  Although I think I am gonna find me a triathlon to get into.  I want a 70.3 to dabble with then maybe a 140.6.

    Congrats my friend!

    Kat,

What a terrific race report that was! I really enjoyed reading it. Congratulations on completing your first ultra!! I have a feeling there will be many more.  You should be justifiably proud of what you have accomplished over the past two and a half years or so.  Take care.

Kat, great race and fine RR. You really got the essence of it which is the best part for us non-combatants. Relentless, indeed.

Congratulations on an incredibly impressive effort! Being in training for my first marathon, it definitely is inspiring to see someone do well beyond a marathon under such difficult conditions. This RR will definitely help to push me on days that I just don't think I can run another step. Well done!

Kat, I'm so very, very proud of knowing you, your stamina, your persistance, and your sticktoitness.  Girl, you're going places.  Your RR was a touching read and I loved it.  What more can be said that someone hasn't said already.

Kat, the JFK 50-miler is the weekend before Thanksgiving.  You know, just in case...

    Re: RR: Laurel Highlands 50K

Awesome Kat! And a great RR.

Sara's comment on your blog reminded me of a Jackie Kennedy write-up. After JFK's death, when Robert Kennedy was the father figure to her kids they went for a family outing. Little John trips over a rock and starts sobbing. And...

    RFK: "Hey, Kennedys don't cry!"

    JFK Jr.: "This Kennedy CRIES!"

Sometimes crying is an OK thing to do - even when you are an ultramarathoning, tough girl!

    CONGRATULATIONS!

A Great report, Kat ! Trail ultras are a different mind set as well as the obvious physical challenge.

Join us for the JFK 50 in Hagerstown. All the Blurs will be there. Stay with us and we go for a big dinner at a wonderful German restaurant the next day to celebrate my birthday.  Come one come all.

Good job, I'm planning a couple of 50K's at the end of this year.  I just hope I can be as strong as you.
