This was a great race. Very challenging, but so beautiful. Conquering the heat and hills made the run more rewarding! I loved it. As a Tennessee girl, I have to say seeing the hills and running through the small town of Bell Buckle warmed my heart. I'll definitely run the race next year.
great race as always.....maybe more water stops at each mile due to excess heat and humidity..its a 10 in my book as like going back to andy of mayberry
The course was gorgeous. Very tough due to the hills and the heat was stifling but it was worth it. Must say I felt the race was a little unorganized due to traffic and the fact that the Moonpie Festival ran out of MOONPIES for the race! Very disappointing since I was really looking forward to a moonpie at the finish line.
hot and challenging.....excellent run and perfect distance for the time of year. Fills in excellently between spring and fall longer runs, well supported in community, great food and fun.
This is a great run. The breeze made for a great run if you did not try to over do it. The course is great and after run activites are SUPER!!! The deep fried Moon Pie is a MUST! I highly recommend this run for anyone wanting to get in a long run before the super dry days of July and August get here. Bell Buckle community is great and is very welcoming and super nice "folks".
I have run this race 3 times and it is great. The locals are a great support. The post-race food is great. I was disappointed to see the volunteers at the water stops having to pour water out of water bottles into cups. The water was lukewarm and it was unfortunate to see a waste of so many water bottles. I hope to see recycling bins next year to make this race more eco-friendly. Cold water would be nice too.
