Have a beer(s) and take a nap!
I'm registering the second I'm cleared by my cardiologist. Cross your fingers that's Thursday.
I do today what you won't, so tomorrow I do what you can't.

The Dizzy Fifties 50k, 40 mile, and 50 mile runs near Huntsville, AL will be on the same day, with less history but easier logistics and an entry fee $121 dollars LESS than JFK (24 vs 145)
Thank you!! I've been so bummed out partially because I feel like when I was in San Diego I thought of all these cool new goals to put on the map... a half ironman at the end of the summer, a 50 miler this fall... and those have been put on hold. Thanks for helping keep my spirits up ![]()

Get the all-clear tomorrow! We'll all be cheering!
I printed my application out for JFK, but remember unless you're military or have run it five times you cannot postmark the application before the 9th. ($145.00 -- little ouch!)
Who else out there except for me and Kat (thinking positively Kat) is going to challenge this beast? Speak up now, all you brave of heart !
And remember the sign the aid station at mile 38 posted last year. "CRAZY PEOPLE DOING STUPID THINGS IN GROUPS !". I'm crazy and lovin' every mile of it! Woo hoo!!. ( maybe less caffeine tomorrow).
I met a guy at the local coffee shop on Monday who is going to run it... he's something like a 6 time Ironman, 15 time half Ironman and 7 time marathoner, with a 2:47 in Pittsburgh! He's a local swim coach and seems awesome... he called me to today to figure out when he could send his registration in. Too bad he's so fast, it would be nice to have a buddy for the long long runs

Kat. They are a little persincky about it. The website says that if it's postmarked before July 9th, It will be rejected! A bit stern, I say.
I'll be there again. Ran it last year so I know what to expect this time. As a military veteran I sent my application in this morning.
For what it's worth.. I did not train especially for the JFK50. I trained to run the MCM, took some time off after that, then ran the JFK50. But I would recommend incorporating some trail running into your plan. Last year I did not.. and I suffered on the rocks.. er, mountain. Get ready to hate rocks and love the volunteers.
Good luck to all those that enter.
50 at 50...thats nice and even. i just don't know though...
Happy Running!
